Pushing Daisies

I've been laying around last night being all sickly and low and behold Pushing Daisies has returned! Caprise (my roommate) was laughing at me because I got so excited but I thought the show was cancelled months ago....so what does this mean?!?!?
I just love this show. The colors! The costumes! The sets! The wordy dialogue that makes the show feel more like a visual book than a TV show! Did I mention the colors? Please Lord let it come back from the dead and rescue us all from the barrenness of summer TV.

Back in NYC

I got back from Iowa on Tuesday but I've been sick (and still am) so I haven't really felt like collaborating and posting.
Needless to say, it was fantastic! I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that it was the most laid-back wedding of all time. The ceremony (which lasted about 10 minutes) and reception were in the same room and Hollie doned flip-flops while Zac wore a button down short-sleeved shirt with sandals. And for the reception there were some fabulous gourmet vegetarian pizza and Zac's home brewed beer. The whole thing was such an accurate reflection on the bride and groom's personalities which made everything simply perfect.
Unfortunately on my flight(s) back I caught a nasty bug which has landed me in bed for the third day in a row. Let's hope it's not the dreaded swine flu!

Heading to Iowa

I'm off to my friends' wedding tomorrow in scenic Iowa! The bride, groom and I are all graduates of the illustrious ivy league known as Berry College and I haven't seen them in a long while so I can't wait to see them. Plus there will be a number of other Berry folk so it's a mini-reunion for all of us. I'll be taking tons of photos for people who can't be there. Hopefully there won't be any photos like the one above, but if there are I'm sure Hollie can pull it off.

Speaking of the Golden Girls

Was walking past a jewelry store on 7th street and the Golden Girls painting caught my eye.  They were selling necklaces dedicated to each character! I'm not a big follower of the show, but I'm a fan of these pendants.

Weekend Finds

Hit up a vintage sale this weekend with Lori and we both found some fun (and cheap) pieces. Yes, that is in fact a full on sequin shirt with sequin floral embellishments and a tapered hem. And yes, I fully intend to rock it as soon as I figure out how to work it into an outfit without looking like a Golden Girl.

Jones Street Station

Went last Thursday to see Jones Street Station play at the Housing Works Bookstore. Moby was also in attendance and Alan brazenly asked him to watch our drinks while we all went outside for a breather.

Also in the crowd there were two, um, entertaining dancers who were clearly feeling the music more than everyone else. The video was taken on my camera so it's pretty dark but you can kind of see two blobs bobbing about.

So good and yet so bad

Butter Lane is this cupcake place several blocks from my apartment and I'm obsessed. Why do they have to be so delicious and so conveniently close?! Are they trying to make me gain 10 pounds? THEN they to the worst thing imaginable: they've made Saturdays "buy two get two free" days. The temptation is too much.

Oh, and by the way, their banana bread cupcakes with cream cheese frosting are heaven.

Private Eye

Saw this truly awesome lady on my way to work today who was decked out head to toe in red (heels, purse, nails...). Felt a very secret agent-esque trying to get a photo without her noticing. Oddly enough I was actually donning a trench coat and beret, which was quite fitting for this project. I probably could have asked but what's the fun in that?
When I get older I hope I'll be ballsy enough to rock head to toe matching ensembles.

Keeping it Classy

I know what you're thinking, "You know what this taco place really needs? A Last Supper embroidered booth seat."
Voila. Wish granted.
